Lucky strike
Lately, I have been feverishly organizing my daily life, both personal and professional, trying to find a way to include in it many things! The main focus remains to master React. At this point though, I am beginning to think more seriously and in much longer-term perspective. So, my plan is this:
I need to wake up pretty early and go to bed consequently early too. So, I am currently waking up every day at 6:50 am! I have set a habit for this in HabitBull. Counting a 21-days streak already.
When I get up I read for 2 pomodoros! I am currently reading Titan: The Life of John D. Rockefeller, Sr.! (He is one of my role models along with Elon Musk btw..)
After this I am doing my newly added Chinese lesson with a mobile app called Chinese Skill. It is a really good language learning app, but to be honest: chinese is too hard!!! I am doing a pomodoro every day for chinese!
After this I am spending a pomodoro for Studying Programming! This is where I include video lessons, online courses etc. All learning stuff! I am currently doing this course on Node.js: The Complete Node.js Developer Course (1nd Edition). Very good course so far. And it started from really the basics, like primitives and functions.
While trying to build habits with all these new stuff, I am planning of squeezing in my morning rituals some exercise and meditation! I have already ordered two or three books on meditation! More on this when I get the books and start practicing meditation myself!
And this is the lucky strike!
I was InMailed in my LinkedIn account about a job opening in a company! I decided to give it a try: they had a project and they wanted to use React as the main development platform! Hurrayyyyyy
So, I went to the interview and it got quite technical at once! After a while and without trying to lie about my current level of React skills (I suck at this point!) they decided to proceed with other candidates! But: the developer who interviewed me introduced me to the big boss who is like a god of programming! He immediately understood my programming skills level and proposed we should do a small game in React instead. Mind blowing stuff! Of course, I said yes and after careful thought I told him we would go for Sudoku! We will build this with React, Redux and Reactive! Yayyy!!
Prerequisites
The first step in doing the project is to take on a course in Udacity to better understand JavaScript itself! The course is about the OOP paradigm in JS and it is called: Object-Oriented JavaScript by Hack Reactor! Great material! I skimmed through it and learnt more than I knew for JS alone all these years!
The second step is another lesson this time paid from Codeschool. He told me that he will give me his credentials to finish it! How about this? I haven’t experienced something like this before in my entire life! A complete stranger is offering me mentorship for free! I am more than grateful to him! God bless him eternally!
Finally, we will setup the environment for React and start building Sudoku!
How about that for a change? I think I am the luckiest guy in the planet given this opportunity to learn from the Master himself!
