This blog is about a developer’s decision to log his adventures while transitioning towards mobile applications with React Native. This is meant to be the chronicles of this objective!
I was always wondering about this library, everyone saying how great it is, seeing all the charts and statistics and popularity made me really curious and eagerly started “googling around”, sort of speaking. Then, I saw some code and followed along with some tutorials. WOW!! Then it hit me! I loved the cleanliness of code, and ES6? Man, it is great!! It looks like Python to me. I think I will even omit semicolons from now on. Have you seen JS with no punctuation? Oh boy! Looks really good to me. I have to check though if there is any problem with not using any.
So, “The die is cast”! That’s the main idea behind this blog. It will be something like a diary or log as I advance in learning React.
I hope you enjoy my blog and find something useful to add or get.
During all this time since the beginning of this blog, I have been through a lot of programming tasks and tests and stuff related to my everyday work. As time passes, I realize more and more my need to study plain JavaScript itself more consistently and methodically. Libraries and frameworks are all built on top of this very interesting language. So, often here and there I will post some articles about theory and practice of the language itself. And, I hope some day I will be able to master it and help others master it!
After some years on the go, I finally worked for a year in a mobile app. It is a cryptocurrency wallet application made (at the time at least) with Cordova and React libs ecosystem, like Redux, Redux Sagas etc. etc.
I have to say that although I started the blog transitioning towards mobile app development, I have mainly worked with web applications and I must say I love it more. Next chapter on my journey? Become a Lead frontend developer and manage a team of developers. Let’s see what happens! Life is extremely interesting at laughing with people’s plans.
